In the early 1960s, Urs Eschle, head of product development at DOXA, wanted to bring precision watchmaking to divers. He saw the need for an affordable, reliable, purpose-designed timepiece for the growing community of underwater adventurers.

In 1964, Project SUB began with a mission to design a true diver’s watch. DOXA explored every aspect of what makes up a true diver’s watch until the optimum solution was found. The DOXA SUB 300T was launched in 1967, with radical innovations that established it as the professional benchmark.

In 1968, the SUB 300T Conquistador was the first DOXA watch for divers with a helium release valve (HRV). DOXA SUB symbolises the diving watch benchmark across generations of diving fans and adventurers.
